Multidisciplinary group with primary care (PC) doctors and nurses, who belong simultaneously to the following groups with which collaboration is established:
Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) referral group of the Barcelona ICS primary care management.
Catalan Society of Family and Community Medicine (CAMFiC): dermatology, infectious diseases (GERMIAP) and international cooperation (COCOOPSI) groups.
SEXIT group for sexual health education and prevention of STIs and violence.
We have a joint trajectory in research, clinical and teaching in the field of prevention, diagnosis, treatment and training in sexually transmitted infections and sexual health and prevention of violence with a gender perspective.
Objectives: To promote multidisciplinary research in the field of sexually transmitted infections and sexual health, from the perspective of primary care, with the aim of improving prevention, diagnosis, treatment and comprehensive support for those affected, as well as promoting sexual health in the community.
Specific objectives: Develop and evaluate educational and intervention strategies to promote safe sexual practices in the community and among PA professionals. Investigate new tools and protocols for the early diagnosis of STIs in AP. Explore the use of digital tools to improve STI training, detection and care. Promote the training of primary care professionals in sexual health and STIs. Measure the impact of the interventions implemented in reducing the incidence of STIs. Collaborate with other research groups and entities.
